SUMMITS, RETREATS, & FELLOWSHIPS

Building Rural LGBTQ+ Power through deep in-person connections. Learning together so we can grow together so we can act together.

  • SUMMITS

We have been running our Out in the Open Summits for Rural & Smalltown LGBTQ+ Folks since 2015.

Summits are places to gather in community, (re)connect with and actively queer rural traditions, build relationships and trust among other rural and small town LGBTQ+ people, celebrate & grieve together, and create a roadmap to move us closer to our collectively liberated and joyful futures.

We’ve offered sessions on goat care & cheesemaking, alternatives to policing, creating your own drag character, and everything in between. Join us at these now more-than-annual gatherings!

  • RETREATS

We’re building on our years of successful Summits by moving into longer gatherings of smaller groups, aimed at deepening connections, giving us more time to dig into topics and skills, and more power for rural LGBTQ+ people. All of the good things about Summits just more of it!

First up, in 2023, our five-day Vermont Trans Audio Retreat. Read more about this first Retreat offering below.

  • FELLOWSHIPS

The pilot Rural LGBTQ+ Power and Belonging Fellowship is underway now. There will be two more cohorts, in 2024. This Fellowship is for people living in Wabanaki Territory/Maine who desire connection with other LGBTQ+ people nearby who are thinking about and working towards social and cultural change in rural places.
