Rural Maine Renters Project
In 2024, Out int the Open facilitated the Rural LGBTQ+ Power and Belonging Network Fellowship. The Resources for Rural Maine Renter’s zine and survey emerged from Community Safety Network fellowship cohort participants Max Lanham and Matsu Hikida’s lived experiences and questions. The zine was translated into Spanish and Arabic, and recorded, to increase access to the resources within. Survey participants volunteered to read segments of the survey results and anecdotes about respondents experiences as renters in rural Wabanakik/Maine.
